How lovely are the stars before dawn!
I’m not a morning person, at least not by choice. There are times where waking up early before a commute to work is…uncomfortable. It does not fill me joy to leave the safe refuge of the blankets but it must be done. There are some days (or perhaps some nights) however, where there is a sense of stillness and calm that cannot be found in the daylight hours. Soft jazz playing in the background and the comforting darkness clouds the early morning in an ethereal haze, mystical. The greatest joy is the twinkle beyond the curtains, opening up to reveal shining gemstones in the vast night sky.
In the morning before dawn, nothing is the same, water feels as if it were taken from a bubbling mountainside stream, the towels are warm and comforting, outside a fragrance lingers in the breeze and the moon smiles all knowingly from behind its veil of clouds, basking the world in a pale silvery lights. It’s one of my favourite parts of the day, the peace is brings is almost unparalleled.
Hidden in the gentle darkness is a creativity, that can flourish unhindered as the house sleeps. Words flow freely and you see beauty everywhere. Under the dazzling stars, there are no naysayers, no social media to distract and most importantly, no fear. It’s too dark and we’re all too sleepy to see you fail, so if you find yourself up before the crack of dawn, let yourself enjoy the moment. Say hello to the stars, they are your greatest fan, and let your worries go. Work can wait, those problems are only for the sunlight. Until then, let the night keep your worries for you, and let yourself be you. Create something the stars will love, something unique to you, that reflects the stardust embedded into your very being, those in the sky are your kin.
